DIY One Stars + Another Giveaway!

Converse are a kind shoe I can never have enough of, so when Target approached me about sending over a pair of Converse One Stars to decorate however I wanted, I obviously said yes. While there was a kit with all kinds of glitter, fabric markers, sequins, etc, I realized that I loved the simplicity of the shoe and wanted to keep them that way. So what did I do? I grunged them up just a wee bit by adding three spikey studs to each shoe. I love that there’s now an unexpected surprise in my simple white sneakers and that they could probably double as weapons if I wanted them too.

Well, it doesn’t stop there. Target would love to send one of you splendid readers a Target gift card and a decorating kit in the hopes that you will decorate your very own pair of Converse One Stars as well!

Just like my last giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment below but this time I want you to tell me one place that you would love to travel to someday…

I’ll announce the winner on Thursday!

…et voila!

This is what I call the Dayquil glow…

Yesterday morning I woke up feeling like someone started a fire in my throat while a marching band was practicing in my head. Needless to say I was one sick puppy without any interest in putting more than five minutes into my outfit for work. I decided to go for comfort on a day that I’d rather have spent in bed watching movies and chose this soft dress that’s actually a nightgown from the pajama department at Target (shh don’t tell).

I dragged my tired toosh to work but was so thankful to be wearing pajamas a comfortable dress since I spend the majority of my days sitting in a chair in awkward positions. I was pretty out of it for most of the day (thank you Dayquil!) and managed to run into an elevator door while it was closing and now have a giant bump on my head which you can actually see in some of these photos - it looks like a giant vein on my forehead…yeah, don’t lie, you all see it…

I guess that’s all part of pajama days…if you’re dressed like you’re in bed then chances are you’re going to go about your day sleepwalking. Let’s just be thankful I didn’t take any Nyquil…

Converse x Target

Yesterday I was invited to test out my styling skills with the latest collection of Converse for Target. I’m a big lover of all things Target and all things Converse so I was pretty excited to check out/play with the new line first hand. While I wouldn’t wear everything in the collection, I was pretty much obsessed with the beautifully constructed trench coats (they came in navy blue, army green and khaki) and much to my surprise, the blue jeans! Normally I hate blue jeans, but these were both stretchy and structured and I can already imagine myself wearing them with some summer sandals and a white peasant top. I also loved this sheer white tunic that would make the perfect bathing suit cover - I can’t believe I already have to think about bathing suit season…oy. Anyways, here are the three looks that I styled. There weren’t a lot of clothing options, but this is what I came up with!

Back in April I wrote about my desire to own a bike in NYC. Well, I’ve gone ahead and kicked the desire bucket and purchased one this past weekend.

my new bike •

I bought it from Target for a mere $179 buckeroos and it is now sitting in Connecticut, waiting to get a ride with my cousin back to New York. All I can say is I cannot wait to give it a spin around my neighborhood. Much like a new dress, I am already daydreaming about what accessories I want to add to my new bicycle. While I don’t see myself adding tassels to the handlebars, a wicker basket and bike bell are two bike necessities. For those of you who are avid city riders, I’d love some suggestions on which bike locks that you prefer and any other bike suggestions you may have!

  1. Nantucket Handlebar Basket - $29
  2. Republic Oversized Bike Bell - $18
  3. Asos Fingerless Gloves - $17
  4. Fjallraven Kanken Ice Blue Backpack - $72
  5. Nutcase Helmet - $50
  6. Target Bike Light - $20

p.s. Doesn’t the helmet remind you of the one Kate Moss wore in one of her Terry Richardson photo shoots? Just a wee bit?

I promise to post some pics of me and my bike soon!

Rodarte for Target

According to Coutorture this is the complete look book by Rodarte for Target. I’m not really sure how I feel about the collaboration. I expected something a bit more exciting from the Mulleavy sisters.

I do like the yellow sweater in the third look and the jean jacket in the last look is fabulous.

What do you think??
