Thomas Sires
Last Thursday I was invited to the opening of a brand new Nolita boutique called Thomas Sires, co-owned by Fiona Thomas (who I’ve actually known since I was a wee tot!) and Allison Sires. The store is tucked away on the quiet Elizabeth Street but is impossible to miss thanks to its inviting interior and neon pink sign that practically pulls you in through its glass doors. The inside feels like an emptied out living room from the 1950s that’s now filled with downtown-chic clothing, sexy little intimates and all kinds of wonderful bric-á-brac that one might find in stores like Colette.
I arrived about thirty minutes after the party officially started and the shop was already so packed I could barely get my hands on a glass of champagne! But once I had a few sips and munched on a delicious macaron, I sifted through the racks placed around the store and fell head-over-heels in love with practically every item. Among my favorites was a chunky knit vest lined in faux fur, a houndstooth-like skirt, and the most adorable children’s pieces that I wish they had in adult sizes. Although too crowded to try anything on at the opening, I can hardly wait to go back and get my hands on a few pieces and it’s probably both a good and bad thing that the boutique is only a few blocks from my apartment…

day-lab
Day-Lab is one of my favorite online accessory boutiques. Run by Amy Shutt from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, day-lab features a wide selection of vintage and independently designed jewelry and accessories. You can tell that Amy makes sure to pick out only the best pieces and sells them at an incredibly affordable price.

The best part? Each month a percentage of the profits goes to the Humane Society.
Below are some of my favorite pieces from the shop right now.
brook&lyn
Brook & Lyn is an adorable online boutique run by Mimi Jung. Mimi started off with just a fashion blog and it quickly developed into a boutique full of pieces one can only hope to find sifting through a thrift store or on ebay. From designer clothing and intricate jewelry to precious trinkets and treasures, Mimi seems to really take the time to make sure that everything in her boutique is as amazing as she describes them. Here are some of my favorite pieces in her store right now!!
Happy shopping!!
