In just two days, H&M’s collection for Fashion Against Aids will hit stores nationwide. Known as their “Festival Collection”, this latest launch features a variety of heavily patterned tunics, dresses and pants as well as “camping gear” like sleeping bags, a tent and fold out chairs.

While I like the majority of this collection, I’m not sure where they get off calling it the “Festival Collection”. As a festival attendee, I have a hard time imagining myself wearing a silk leopard dress and sequined jacket to a place where I’m most likely going to wind up covered in mud and dirt. I’m also pretty sure if anyone showed up to Coachella, Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, etc. with a leopard print tent and a paisley sleeping bag they’d be laughed at. That being said, I love how the designers have drawn their inspiration from fashionable festival-goers to create boho-chic, light, and effortless clothing that are ideal for warm summer nights out on the town…and the orange leopard print poncho would certainly help you from being lost in a crowd of +60,000 people in a field in the middle of nowhere.

Here are some of my favorite items, as well as the “camping gear” which I couldn’t help but post:

The Festival Collection will launch on May 20th, 2010 and 25% of all sales will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Projects. Gotta love shopping for a good cause!

the reason you cant imagine wearing a leopard dress is because you said you usually only dress in black, with tiny pieces of color mixed in . . .

Actually the reason why I can’t imagine wearing a leopard dress to a MUSIC FESTIVAL is because of the material. I wouldn’t want to ruin a pretty silk leopard dress at a dirty music festival like bonnaroo. However, I would most certainly wear said leopard dress to any other occasion.

If you see here ( I do wear color, and especially to music festivals.

    Enjoy shopping the collection.
